Creative Minds Project 2018

The Kings Theatre currently has a six-month pilot project funded by the Big Lottery Fund for those living with dementia.

“Arts activities are overwhelmingly described by people in early to mid-stage dementia as enjoyable, pleasurable, engaging, stimulating, and/or positively challenging,” Alzheimer’s Society.

For this project, many of the Kings Theatre staff, including the Box Office team and the Front of House team have received specialist training via the Alzheimers Society and are now Dementia Friendly Champions.

Creative Minds offers those living with dementia the opportunity to participate, create and watch theatre across a range of creative art practices including drama, music, movement/dance, film, creative writing & poetry.
