Kings School of Performing Arts

Our newly rebranded The Kings School of Performing Arts (KSPA) have proudly run youth programmes in Portsmouth for over a decade.

We provide various opportunities to encourage young people to fulfil their passion and potential within the world of theatre. We offer weekly classes in singing, dancing and acting, with different sessions for all abilities, as well as our annual Community Youth Production and adult show choir, Resonate.

At The Kings School of Performing Arts, we have a commitment to delivering first class training in a supportive environment and to provide places to dedicated young performers that may not normally be able to attend by hosting a scholarship programme that will fund £25,000 worth of places in a year.

KSPA Academy

Our Academy is an opportunity for children and young people to explore musical theatre in a fun and social atmosphere. Our experienced professional performers teach a well-rounded knowledge of singing, acting and dancing on a Saturday morning.

The Preschool to Reception group will gain a gentle introduction to musical theatre, learning coordination, learning a song and movement.

Years 1-3 will have an hour of blended musical theatre skills where they will start to put skills together and learn

Years 4 – 13 will have separate acting, singing and dancing classes each week where they can focus on individual disciplines. Within their age groups, students will develop and expand their skills through exciting and engaging projects.

Throughout the year there are opportunities to perform in KSPA productions at the Kings Theatre, attend theatre trips and learn from external professionals.
