Paul Clements | Caractacus Potts

PAUL CLEMENTS

Paul Clements trained at the Guildford School of Acting and has built a career that blends his love of performing with a deep commitment to nurturing young talent. Over the past 20 years, he has taught hundreds of students, beginning with his work at Chichester University in Musical Theatre Performance, where he served as a vocal coach, singing teacher and acting teacher. His passion lies not only in the craft itself, but in helping others discover their own voice, confidence and joy on stage. Paul is now the Principal of Portsmouth Theatres Arts Academy, guiding more than 100 young performers through their training and supporting them as they create an end-of-year production they can truly be proud of. He also serves as Artistic Director of Stage One Youth Theatre Company, where he continues to open doors for young people to experience the thrill and responsibility of performing in a full show. Returning to the role of Caractacus Potts is particularly special for Paul, having played the character three years ago on the same stage. Even with a few familiar faces returning, the production feels fresh, full of new energy and surprises that he knows will delight audiences.

Stephanie Aves

Stephanie trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, graduating with distinction and receiving the John Wills Memorial Prize for outstanding performance in voice. During her training, her roles included Hope Cladwell in Urinetown, Polly Peachum in The Threepenny Opera and Mabel in Mack and Mabel. She made her professional debut as Vera May/ First Cover Beth & Carrie in The War of the Worlds (UK Arena Tour) and has since appeared in The Winter’s Tale at Shakespeare’s Globe and This Is Me with Welsh National Opera. She has also worked on plays in development, including Nest (in the role of Nest) and Haffkine. Stephanie is a resident singer with the Brighton and Hove Concert Orchestra. Alongside this, she has performed in concerts across the UK and internationally, including appearances at Carnegie Hall, New York, and in France, Switzerland and Germany. Her other roles include Elle Woods in Legally Blonde, Maria in The Sound of Music, Lucille Frank in Parade, Serena Katz in Fame, Laurey in Oklahoma!, Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes, Cassie in A Chorus Line and Kathy in The Last Five Years. Pantomime credits include Cinderella (title role) at the Greenwood Theatre and Charlotte in Treasure Island (Scala Theatre, Basel).

Peter Colley

Peter first saw the film of Chitty in 1968 – the year it was released – which is an indication of his great age!

First performing at the age of eight he later received training from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art being award a Diploma with Honours. Performing with local societies Portsmouth Players, HumDrum and CCADS, roles include Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady (Kings Theatre), Colonel Pickering in My Fair Lady (Kings Theatre), Chesney Allen in Underneath the Arches (Kings Theatre), Harold Nicholls in Full Monty (New Theatre Royal), Captain EJ Smith in Titanic the Musical (Kings Theatre 2006 and 2021), Danny Ormendroyd in Brassed Off (New Theatre Royal), CS Lewis in Shadowlands (Portsmouth Arts Centre), Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls (Kings Theatre) and Major Courteny in The Ladykillers (Kings Theatre). He has also played the Dame for Windmill Players since 1989.

Averaging four shows each year onstage, and over a hundred each year as an audience member, theatre is a big part of his life. He wouldn’t have it any other way!

This is his third time as Grandpa Potts, and he loves this wonderfully eccentric, caring, slightly comical character.

Daniel Deboo

Playing Jeremy Potts is Daniel’s first major show role and he has thoroughly enjoyed being part of the rehearsal process. His first stage appearance came last year as part of the ensemble in a Rare Productions performance of Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure. Since the age of seven, Daniel has been a member of a musical theatre group called West End Perform and has delivered solo performances including Billy Elliot, Gavroche and Mr Wormwood from Matilda. He most enjoyed performing You’ll Be Back as King George III. Daniel has developed a love of musical theatre and enjoys a musical themed sing-a-long on long car journeys. Away from the stage, he also enjoys building Lego, is a competent sailor and is part of a local Sea Cadets Unit. We hope you will share our excitement at seeing Daniel bring his talents to The Kings Theatre.

Logan Briant

Logan is thrilled to be making her debut at The Kings Theatre in the role of Jemima Potts. Training at Arabesque School of Performing Arts from the age of four, Logan has performed in several productions, often in featured roles. This marks her first major theatre production.

Logan also regularly competes in dance festivals, currently with Starz Arts Academy and recently achieved a place in the All England regional finals. She loves all aspects of musical theatre and is happiest on stage, performing and bringing characters to life.

Outside of theatre, Logan loves reading, enjoys a wide range of sports, particularly cross country, and loves staying active. She is very excited to be part of this production and hopes you enjoy the show!

Harley Haslam

Harley Haslam has been on stage many times at The Kings Theatre with Portsmouth Theatre Arts Academy and is now enjoying his part as Jeremy Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Harley’s stage credits include: Antonio in 12th Night (Kings Theatre); Jack in Rescue on Nims Island (Kings Theatre); Harv in Curtains! Jr (Kings Theatre).

Primrose Ayling

Primrose is thrilled to be playing Jemima in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! She loves dancing, singing, and acting, and truly feels at home on stage. Primrose began her love for performing at just 2 years old when she started at Prima Dance Academy, where her passion for the stage first began to shine.

She previously appeared as Kate in Annie at The Kings Theatre, where she loved every moment of performing and being part of such a wonderful cast. Primrose is also an accomplished dancer. She won the Dance World Cup in Prague in 2024 and, at just 9 years old, took first place for her tap solo at the All England Regional Finals.

John Bettesworth

John is delighted to be returning to this wonderful character, alongside Andee Jordan as the Baroness, having portrayed these fun roles in the previous production 3 years ago.
Local Theatre has been a part of his life for the last 48 years.
Favourite leading roles from more than eighty shows include Max Bialystok in The Producers, Bud Flanagan in Underneath the Arches, Hans in Hans Anderson, Kipps in Half a Sixpence, Bill Snibson in Me and My Girl, and, Nick Arnstein in Funny Girl.
A life Member and Patron of the Portsmouth Players, he began his career in local theatre with the Group, as well as serving as a member and Chairman of the committee.
John has also conceived and directed many shows in the local area including the the 100th Anniversary celebration  for this glorious Kings Theatre. The award winning Me and my Girl, Irene, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Annie and Oliver for FMS.
The Streisand Songbook, and last year’s Proms at The Kings. He will be directing this year’s Proms in May and a tribute to Julie Andrews at the Barn Theatre in Milton in September for The Portsmouth Players.

Andee Jordan

Andee is thrilled to join the cast of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang & reprising her role as Baroness Bomburst. The Kings Theatre stage feels like a second home having appeared as Miss Hannigan in Annie & as Mrs Gloop in Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. Other stage credits include Ray in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie (CCADS, Petersfield Festival Hall), Molly MacGregor & Ensemble in The Full Monty (Kings Theatre) Mrs Mullins in the Rodgers & Hammerstein classic Carousel (Kings Theatre) Madge in The Dresser (CCADS, Square Tower) & Pat in Kinky Boots (CCADS, Kings Theatre).

Shaun Williamson

Shaun Williamson is an actor and singer, best known for his role as Barry Evans in the BBC soap opera EastEnders, which he played from 1994 to 2004. He is also widely recognised for playing a fictionalised version of himself in Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant’s sitcoms Extras (2005–2007) and Life’s Too Short (2011–2013).

Shaun’s other television work includes roles in the CBBC comedy series Scoop (2009–2011), Plebs (2014), Houdini (2014), Mister Winner (2020), and Significant Other (2023), along with appearances in TV staples such as DoctorsThe BillCasualtyHolby City, and London’s Burning.

His theatre credits are extensive, with performances in One Man, Two Guvnors at the National Theatre, The LadykillersAnything GoesThe Railway ChildrenGuys and DollsChitty Chitty Bang BangPorridgeSaturday NightFever, and many more.

Shaun has also featured in several reality TV shows, including Fame Academy (2007), Celebrity Big Brother(2017), Five Go Barging (2019), and Celebs on the Farm (2021).

An avid quizzer, Shaun has raised over £350,000 for charity by winning shows such as Pointless (four times), The Chase (twice), Beat the ChasersCelebrity MastermindHouse of Games, and Britain’s Brightest Family. He hosted his own quiz show, The 24 Hour Quiz, in 2004 and co-hosted Al Murray’s Great British Pub Quiz in 2019. His autobiography, A Matter of Facts (2020), intertwines stories from his life with his quest to win the World Quiz Championships.

Since 2020, Shaun has been touring the UK’s music venues and festivals with Barrioke — a joyous, interactive karaoke party where audience members join him on stage to create an unforgettable singalong celebration.

Stuart Warner

Stuart has been performing since the age of eight and, since joining the Portsmouth Players at 15, has appeared in over 100 musicals with them.  Stuart also performs in numerous concerts, singing a mixture of opera, oratorio, lieder and musical theatre. In his spare time, he enjoys practicing the art of Tai Chi and has recently achieved his white belt! He is thrilled to be a part of this production, and wishes you all a Truly (Scrumptious) wonderful time. 

 

Matt Gibbins

Matt is delighted to be returning to The Kings Theatre stage once again. For the past decade he’s taught Musical Theatre at Chichester University whilst also directing and choreographing locally. Credits include Teddy (The Full Monty) Munkustrap (Cats), Sonny (Grease), Jimmy (Thoroughly Modern Millie), Emmett (Legally Blonde), Lonny (Rock of Ages), and Simon Zealots (JCS).

Curtis McLennan

Curtis McLennan trained in Performing Arts at Barton Peveril College, graduating with a D*D. Since leaving, he has taken a hands-on approach to developing his craft, gaining practical experience across an incredibly wide range of community productions and learning on stage with every role. His most notable credits include Rooster in Annie (Kings Theatre), Francis Henshall in One Man, Two Guvnors (Titchfield Festival Theatre), and Ben Gunn in Treasure Island (Titchfield Festival Theatre). In each, Curtis has been praised for his strong stage presence, sharp comic timing, and the ability to bring even the quirkiest characters vividly to life. Now focused on building a professional career, Curtis is eager to continue challenging himself, expanding his repertoire, and sharing his passion for performance with new audiences.

Ben Irish

This is Ben’s 4th show with The Kings Theatre after The Full Monty, Grease and Bugsy Malone. Ben is a member of the Portsmouth Players playing roles such as Joe Vegas (Fame) and Trekkie Monster (Avenue Q) . He is excited to be joining this fantastically hilarious cast of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Ben can’t wait to get started, with all the laughs and fun we have on stage it is guaranteed to be an amazing show.

Steve Reading

Steve is excited to be part of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang which is his fifth show with the company. Steve stage credits include:- Howard in The Full Monty (Kings Theatre), Oliver Warbucks in Annie (Kings Theatre), Enoch Snow in Carousel (Kings Theatre), Lord Farquaad in Shrek (Fareham Live).

Alex Fentiman

Alex trained at Arts Educational Schools, and Performance Preparation Academy (PPA) as a Bonnie Langford Scholarship recipient, achieving a 1st Class BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre. Credits include: Children’s Choir in Never Forget (Savoy Theatre, West End), Dancer in Club HSM (Disney Channel), Destiny/Dance Captain in Rock of Ages (Eve Lyons Studio Theatre, PPA), Miss Mona Stangley in The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas (Eve Lyons Studio Theatre, PPA), Ensemble in Chess (The Electric Theatre, Guildford) Ensemble/Understudy Sleeping Beauty in Sleeping Beauty (Leatherhead Theatre), Christmas Singer & Show Captain in Legoland, Grace Farrell in Annie (Kings Theatre)

John Jordan

John is excited to return to the stage for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang after working as stage crew for Aladdin (Pompey Panto, Kings Theatre). He really enjoys keeping himself busy; multi-tasking as crew and several smaller roles. His other stage credits include Reg in The Full Monty (Kings Theatre), Mr Bundles in Annie (Kings Theatre), Simon Snr in Kinky Boots (CCADS, Kings Theatre), Hollywood Producer & Father Tom in Nativity! The Musical (CCADS, Kings Theatre), Ensemble in Titanic (Kings Theatre) & My Fair Lady (CCADS, Kings Theatre).

Cara Partridge

Cara is absolutely thrilled to be back at The Kings Theatre, performing in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang for the second time alongside such a talented cast. She has so many wonderful memories from the past 30 years on this stage, appearing in a wide range of productions. Her last role here was Mrs Bucket in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We hope you all enjoy the show.

Charlene Murray

Charlene is delighted to be back to perform in Chitty for her second time! First time appearing alongside her niece and now performing with her daughter Savana! Charlene was last seen at The Kings Theatre playing the crazy mum ‘Mrs Teavee’ in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Stage credits all at The Kings Theatre include: Annie, (Annie Get Your Gun) Peggy, (42nd Street) Rizzo, (Grease) Mary Magdalene, (JCS) Kate McGowan, (Titanic) Helene, (Sweet Charity) Lily St Regis, (Annie). Also, Ado Annie , (Oklahoma, Guildhall) and Bangles, (Bugsy Malone, West End).

Ellie Thomas

Ellie is a trained performer with a first-class degree in Musical Theatre Performance. She has worked professionally as a touring/cruise line dancer, and now teaches and choreographs for aspiring professionals.

Ellie has loved working with The Kings Theatre in the past, and is thrilled to work with them again in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Previous performance credits with The Kings Theatre includes Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2024), Proms at the Kings: a VE Day Celebration (2025), and multiple other events.

Her Choreography credits with The Kings include Annie (2025) and Carousel: A Concert (2025).

Fenn Trodd

Fenn won a scholarship to Millennium Performing Arts, London and graduated with a Higher National Diploma in Musical Theatre. Her professional work includes singer/dancer in Cyprus, Gran Canaria, Ibiza, Somerset and The Disney Magic cruise ship. On the stage, She has appeared in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Grease, Fame, The Full Monty, Legally Blonde and was delighted to play Lily St. Regis in Annie. When Fenn isn’t rehearsing or performing, she runs ‘FT Performing Arts Academy’ in Havant.

Grace Lewis

Grace is a graduate of Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. Her professional credits include performing with Taguk and dancing onboard Costa Cruises. She also performed as a backing dancer for Leona Lewis in the Weday production at Wembley Stadium. Theatre credits include Ensemble in Grease (Kings Theatre); Ensemble in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Kings Theatre); Ensemble in Annie (Kings Theatre); and Ensemble in The Full Monty (Kings Theatre). Grace is thrilled to be part of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and excited to return to The Kings Theatre stage, bringing energy and passion to every performance.

Mackenzie Turnbull

Mackenzie Turnbull started her love for performing arts at Marie Clarke School of Dance. She then went onto train at Emil Dale Academy. Mackenzie graduated with a BA (Hons) Degree in Musical Theatre from Wilkes Academy, Swindon in 2024. Credits: Ensemble in 9to5 (The Deanery, Swindon) Lapland UK (Ascot) and Goodwood Revival (Chichester). She has now launched her own successful singing business, specializing in weddings and private events. Mackenzie is delighted to be a part of the production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Meli Lylia

Melinda is thrilled to be part of the Ensemble Dancers in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at The Kings Theatre. A passionate and versatile performer, Melinda’s recent stage credits include: Danielle in Bring It On (Kings Theatre), Ensemble in The Full Monty (Kings Theatre), and Dancer in the VE Day Proms (Kings Theatre). She also performs as dancer in The Boogie Brunch. While most recently, performing for Gaz Davis at the AO Arena in Manchester. She is excited to help bring the magic, energy and spectacle of this beloved musical to life as part of the company.

Olivia Robinson

Olivia is thrilled to be part of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang for its return to the theatre. A graduate from Chichester Conservatoire with degree in Musical Theatre Performance.

Olivia’s stage credits include: Jan in Grease, Ensemble in Annie, Ensemble in Carousel, Joanie Lish in The Full Monty (All Kings Theatre Community Productions). Regina in Rock of Ages, Ancestor in Addams Family (Both Benchmark Musical Theatre Productions). Serena in Legally Blonde (University of Chichester).

Choreography credits: Spring Awakening (University of Chichester), Clockmaker’s Daughter (University of Chichester), Legally Blonde (CAOS).

Sarah Partridge

Sarah Partridge is thrilled to be returning to The Kings Theatre in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. She was last seen here in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as Violet Beauregarde. Sarah has been performing at The Kings Theatre since the age of six, with her favourite role to date being Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray. A professional singer, Sarah performs with several bands, including a 60s Motown band and a 40s–50s trio. Alongside performing, she is a professional dance teacher and singer at SD Studios in Portsmouth and loves inspiring the next generation of performers.

Georgina Volkers

Georgina is thrilled to be back at The Kings Theatre. Her performance credits include: Dancer/Singer in various immersive productions (Sky Cinema, Goodwood Revival); Ensemble in A Christmas Carol: The Concert (UK Premiere and Tour); Choir in Carousel: The Concert (Kings Theatre); Holly in The Wedding Singer, Woman 2/Ensemble/Dance Captain in Songs For A New World (Chichester Conservatoire). Credits as a creative include: Assistant Director/Production Supervisor for Bring It On and The SpongeBob Musical (Kings Theatre); Musical Director for Seussical Junior (Portsmouth Theatres Arts Academy); Associate Choreographer for The Theory of Relativity and Moby Dick (Chichester Conservatoire).

Jack Smith

Jack is really excited to be part of the company for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang again, this is his second time performing the show, Jack was in the previous 2023 production at The Kings Theatre. Jack has been a member of the Southsea Shakespeare Actors (SSA) since 2016 and Hayling Island Amateur Dramatic Society (HIADS) since 2018. Jack’s stage credits include Time in A Winter’s Tale, Director: Nik Downes (Square Tower, Portsmouth); Hugo in The Vicar of Dibley, Director: Linda MacDonald (Station Theatre, Hayling Island); Private Pike in Dad’s Army, Director: Jason Christopher (Hayling Island 2019 and Goodwood Revival 2025)

Jessica Hancock

Jess is thrilled to be making her debut with The Kings Theatre in this production. Having long held a passion for the stage, she is especially delighted to be part of such a vibrant and welcoming company. This experience is made even more special as she performs alongside her son for the very first time – something she will treasure always. 

William Sait

Will trained at the University of Chichester in Music and Musical Theatre and graduated in 2021. He has since become involved in local theatre in Portsmouth, including in Carousel – A Concert (Kings Theatre), and Legally Blonde, Miscast Again! and Fame (all Portsmouth Players). Outside of theatre, he works as a chef and a waiter.

Jack Edwards | Director, Head of Production and Casting

JACK EDWARDS

Recognised for his outstanding abilities as a musical theatre performer, Jack has appeared in both West End and UK touring productions, earning particular affection for his role as Pompey’s distinguished pantomime Dame, now in his 12th year. His directing experience encompasses significant productions such as Disney’s Aladdin and The Jungle Book, Beauty and The Beast, along with Grease, Jesus Christ Superstar, and ‘Allo’ Allo! for the Portsmouth Players. As an integral member of The Kings Production Team, Jack has garnered critical praise for his direction of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Little Shop of Horrors, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Full Monty. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang this time around has been a great experience and he looks forward to helping produce more shows for The Kings Theatre and Theatre Royal in the future.

 

Jacqueline Willis

Jackie’s choreographic credits include: Aladdin and Jungle Book (Disney), Grease, 42nd St, Me and My Girl, Titanic, Beauty and the Beast, Annie, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Copacabana, Shrek and Anything Goes. She has worked as Head of Wardrobe at The Kings Theatre for the last two years on shows such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Annie, and Kings Theatre pantomimes, Aladdin, Dick Whittington and Hook. She was Assistant Wardrobe Mistress on the UK tours of Strictly Ballroom and Tina – The Tina Turner Musical.

Andrew Woodford

Andrew has worked extensively as a musical director, conductor, arranger and pianist. He has worked on six pantomimes with The Kings, and he has been MD for The Kings productions since 2018. Recent work includes Sweeney Todd, We Will Rock You, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. He also conducted The Kings Orchestra for VE Day Proms and Carousel. Andrew is the principal conductor of Symphonix Orchestra and has his own theatre school, Curtain Call Creative.

Megan Parkes

Megan is delighted to be making her Assistant Director debut in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at The Kings Theatre. She has performed in numerous productions at The Kings, including Veruca Salt in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Director: Jack Edwards), Star to Be in Annie! (Director: Timothy Quinlan), Louise in Carousel, A Concert (Director: Jack Edwards), and most recently appeared in the 2025 Pompey Panto, Aladdin (Director: Michael Strassen), as a dancer and cover Princess Jasmine. Megan is also part of the original cast of Gilgamesh: A New Musical (Director: Cameron Lythgoe), which premiered in London in November 2025. Megan is proud to be part of such an amazing company and show!

Izzy Isaacs

Izzy Isaacs is delighted to be part of the creative team for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. She trained at The Brighton Academy, graduating with a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre. Since graduating, Izzy has built a dynamic career as a performer, choreographer and creative director. Some of her credits include Ensemble/Dance Captain in Cinderella (Brighton Family Panto), Cha Cha in Grease (Kings Theatre), and Sarah Mulhull in World’s Most Evil Killers (Sky Crime). Her choreography work includes Disney UK, Kings Theatre and The Shapeshifters. In 2024, she founded Boogie Brunch and continues creating opportunities for the community.

Mark Dymock

Mark has worked in the UK and abroad including Once (First National Tour); Tony! Tony Blair the Rock Opera (Harry Hill and Stephen Brown); Return to the Forbidden Planet (25th Anniversary Tour); Betty Blue Eyes (First National Tour); Michael Morpurgo’s Butterfly Lion (Kenwright); Dell Computers Gala (Buenos Aires); with Willy Russell on Educating Rita, Shirley Valentine and Breezeblock Park; Pride and Prejudice, Farm Boy, The Hired Man, Kissing Sid James (New York E59); and previously for Kings on Grease, Charlie, and The Full Monty.

Rob Sarahs

Rob Sarahs is an experienced and seasoned live-sound designer and technician with a passion for creating immersive audio environments. Beginning his musical career in the Royal Marines Band Service, Rob combines technical precision with musical intuition to deliver powerful, expressive mixes. His expertise spans complex show control systems, cutting-edge digital consoles, and traditional theatre technology, ensuring clarity, depth and energy in every performance.

David Birt

David trained on the Hampshire specialist drama course at Highbury College.
After becoming an actor, he took an interest in wigs and headed the departments of West End and touring shows, such as, 42nd Street, Hairspray, Sister Act, Lend me a Tenor, I Can’t Sing, Barnum and Guys & Dolls, to name a few. David now runs his own wig company, Wig Art Theatrical, specialising in making pantomime Dame wigs.
