On Sunday 10th March, The Kings Theatre, Portsmouth is hosting a special festival for youth theatres. The festival is designed for young people aged 12-18.

Organisations must purchase tickets, tickets cannot be sold to individual participants.
We are also able to offer a concessionary place of £6 for any young people whose families are on Income Support, Universal Credit, Employment and Support Allowance, Disability Living, Personal Independence Payments and/or free school meals. We also have funding from the Arts Council for additional access needs.
Youth Theatre groups are also invited to being a short piece between 5-15 minutes to share with other Youth Theatres.
Registration is from 10am, with workshops running 11-1pm and 2-4pm with sharing from 4.30-6pm

Milk Presents
“Theatre that flies in the face of convention” – The Stage
Winners of the prestigious Fringe First and Stage Edinburgh Awards, Milk Presents make work which joyfully and messily pushes the boundaries of devising. Their work explores and challenges themes of identity and gender.
Heather Uden
Heather Uden is a classically trained musician with wide ranging performance experience, encompassing musical theatre, opera and concert solos. This workshop can be tailored to suit your Youth Theatre’s specific aims and will integrate opportunities to focus on vocal technique, develop confidence in ensemble pieces, including singing in harmony and acting through the song.
Oddly Moving
Oddly Moving’s circus-theatre workshops are an opportunity to learn ground based circus skills and discover new ways of intertwining these with storytelling, creating a fusion of physicality and text. Participants will learn diablo, juggling spinning plates and poi and create their own stories/text, exploring different methods of combining the two. We hope everyone will leave with more tools in their toolkit and an understanding of how to create circus-theatre.
The House of Stray Cats
House of Stray Cats is a London based theatre company and Associate Artists of The Point. Excited and keen to include puppetry in a show but not sure where to start? In this fun-filled, practical workshop participants are introduced to the world of puppetry bringing objects to life and learn to build their very own workshop puppets. Working in teams, we will explore different ways to introduce puppetry into your work and make your devising process a little less daunting!
