We are delighted to announce that our ‘Search for Cinders’ is now underway!
The Kings Theatre are looking for a highly skilled singer and actor with strong dance ability to join our talented cast in the title role of Cinderella in this year’s legendary Pompey Panto.
Character breakdown:
⭐ Cinderella is feisty, youthful, upbeat, fun, and energetic.
⭐ She has a bright and sunny demeanour and is liked by everyone.
⭐ She is a positive role model and always kind.
What we are looking for:
⭐ The actress playing Cinderella will need to be a ‘triple threat’. We are looking for an extremely high standard of dance, vocals and acting.
⭐ Age range 18-30.
⭐ Any Ethnicity.
⭐ Actresses with performance experience from all backgrounds including colleges, amateur societies, universities, drama schools and/or professional shows.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
⭐ A video recording of yourself in landscape performing two songs (contrasting) – one Rock/Pop and one Musical Theatre, with piano accompaniment only. Please state your name and your agent’s name (if you have one), before you sing. Upload your tape to WeTransfer and send us the WeTransfer link.
⭐ Your CV which must include your full name, date of birth and height.
⭐ A headshot and full-length photo, and/or link to your Spotlight or Mandy profile (if applicable).
⭐ Confirmation that you are available for all the dates below.
We are unable to respond to all submissions, but we will contact you by 24th June, if you are selected to attend the final audition on 5th July 2022.

PRESS LAUNCH: TUES 13 SEPT
SCRIPT RUNS: TUES 12 JULY/TUES 13 SEPT/MON 31 OCT
REHEARSALS: FRI 18 NOV – THURS 1 DEC
PERFORMANCES: FRI 2 DEC – SAT 31 DEC
If selected for the final audition on 5th July, you will be required to perform the same 2 songs you are submitting by self-tape, so you will need to bring the sheet music with you. You will also be required to dance and perform script.
Full details and script will be sent to you if you are called for the final auditions.
