The Kings Theatre Portsmouth has announced that local performer Stephanie Aves will star as Jill in this year’s spectacular pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk.

 

Stephanie trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff, graduating with distinction and receiving the prestigious John Wills Memorial Prize for outstanding performance in voice. During her training, she appeared as Hope Cladwell in Urinetown, Polly Peachum in The Threepenny Opera and Mabel in Mack and Mabel.

She made her professional debut as Vera May and First Cover Beth & Carrie in The War of the Worlds UK Arena Tour before going on to perform in The Winter’s Tale at Shakespeare’s Globe and This Is Me with Welsh National Opera. Her development work includes Nest, in the title role, and Haffkine.

 

Alongside her theatre work, Stephanie is a resident singer with the Brighton and Hove Concert Orchestra and has performed extensively in concerts throughout the UK and internationally, including at Carnegie Hall in New York, as well as in France, Switzerland and Germany.

Most recently, Stephanie appeared at The Kings Theatre in Portsmouth as Truly Scrumptious in Portsmouth Theatres acclaimed production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in April 2026.

 

Her extensive community musical theatre credits include Elle Woods in Legally Blonde, Maria in The Sound of Music, Lucille Frank in Parade, Serena Katz in Fame, Laurey in Oklahoma!, Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes, Cassie in A Chorus Line and Kathy in The Last Five Years.

 

Stephanie also brings previous pantomime experience to the role, having played the title role in Cinderella at the Greenwood Theatre and Charlotte in Treasure Island at the Scala Theatre in Basel. Now returning to the South Coast, Stephanie is set to delight audiences as Jill in Jack and the Beanstalk, bringing her exceptional vocal talent, warmth and stage presence to The Kings Theatre.
