A bold, feel-good comedy with heart, music, and a whole lot of charm!
Get ready, Portsmouth! The Full Monty is hitting The Kings Theatre stage—and this isn’t just any production. We’re bringing the laughs, the energy, and an unforgettable cast, including the return of the ever-popular Ben Ofoedu, last seen charming panto audiences as Dandini in Cinderella. This time, he’s back in a whole new role… and local fans are in for a real treat.
Based on the hit 1997 film, this Americanized stage adaptation follows six unemployed steelworkers from Buffalo who are down on their luck and desperate to make ends meet. With nothing left to lose, they hatch a wildly unexpected plan: perform a one-night-only strip show to earn some quick cash.
But what begins as a cheeky scheme soon turns into a touching and hilarious journey of self-discovery, friendship, and courage. As the men confront their fears and insecurities, they come to realise that true confidence comes from within—and that the greatest reveal isn’t what’s taken off, but what’s discovered underneath.
“The Kings Theatre means the world to me. The people of Portsmouth have always made me feel welcome—especially during panto season—and I’m proud to give something back. This isn’t just a show, it’s something bigger. It’s a celebration of local talent, and I’m honoured to be part of it.” Ben Ofoedu – Actor, Singer/Songwriter
In a heartwarming show of support, Ben is donating his time and talent completely free of charge—a testament to the spirit of community that makes The Kings Theatre so special.
“We’re always pushing to make our productions extraordinary. Ben brings star power and inspiration to the cast, but this is still very much a show rooted in local talent. His generosity makes this production even more meaningful.” Jack Edwards – Artistic Director & Deputy CEO, Kings Theatre
With a feel-good score, dazzling choreography, and a story packed with laughter, love, and life lessons, Full of music, laughter, heart, and a bit of cheek, The Full Monty is shaping up to be one of the most feel-good shows of the year — and one you won’t want to miss.
