The event will be an outstanding commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of D-Day with music performed by our 40 piece Kings Theatre Orchestra conducted by The Kings Theatre resident Musical Director Andrew Woodford. Andrew will be joined by Resonate, The Kings Theatre Choir, led by The Kings Theatre Arts Academy Principal, Paul Clements and Choir Master Kim Seagrove.
Expect an evening of powerful music, songs and words that commemorate this decisive day in history and the people that were part of it. The show will be produced by Paul Woolf and Jack Edwards, the creative duo behind The Kings Theatre hits such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Grease and of course The Pompey Panto.
As well as the traditional songs expected from the war time era such as A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square and We’ll Meet Again the programme includes Rule Britannia, Land of Hope and Glory, Jerusalem, Cavalleria Rusticana, Nimrod, Fantasia, Saving Private Ryan and Pirates of the Caribbean.
