The Kings Theatre Arts Academy are excited to bring you our own adaptation of the classic play Twelfth Night by Shakespeare!

We will be updating the show with a variety of songs from the retro era of the 90s, where our company will sing and dance the night away. So why don’t you come on down and see this what all the fuss is about.

About the play:

This comedy has two plotlines. The first is a love triangle between one man who loves a woman who falls for his servant, who happens to be a woman disguised as a man, who in her own right, loves her master. The second plot involves three mischievous pals playing a trick on an ill-tempered man, fooling him into believing that the woman is really secretly in love with him, which brings out his inner lover.

This is all very silly and immature, which is why this story belongs in the last era of innocence: the 90’s.
Instead of creating songs out of the monologues, which Shakespeare’s plays are begging for, pop songs from that era are inserted into the scenes to help establish storylines and atmosphere. This will help with the clarity of the story but also add a touch of nostalgia for the viewing audience.
