To celebrate Heritage Open Days 2022, The Kings Theatre will be opening its doors on Sunday 11th September, so why not come along and wander round our beautiful Grade II* listed proscenium arch theatre, designated by the Theatres Trust as a ‘theatre of national architectural importance’.

There will be history and tech tours available to book on the day at the box office. Please be aware that numbers are limited, and tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Our archivists will be on hand to answer your questions on the history of the theatre, with many original artefacts for you to look at.

Our stage area will be home to a display on the history of Panto, with costumes and props for you to see. Did you know that pantomime originates from Italy?! 
Kids, as you’re walking around the theatre keep your eyes peeled for Cinderella’s mice and remember the letters you find – guess the correct word and claim your prize in the Stalls bar, where you’ll also find a kid’s craft area!
